Apple Pie

Pastry Ingredients:-

  • Plain Flour 125g
  • Castor Sugar 15g
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Butter 50g (cold)
  • Iced Water 2 tbsp

Method:-

  1. Mix the flour, sugar and salt.
  2. Add the butter and knead until crumbly with your fingertips (I used cutter to chop butter into flour)
  3. Add 2 tbsp of water and knead to form a dough (don't over knead)
  4. Cover the dough with cling wrap and chill for 1 hour. 

Filling Ingredients:-

  • Apple 2 - 3 nos (about 350g) - cut into thick sliced
  • Castor sugar 3 tbsp (I added 2 tbsp only)
  • Cinnamon powder 1/8 tsp
  • Nutmeg Powder 1/8 tsp
  • Almond Flakes 1/4 cup (finely chopped)

Method:- Combine all ingredients


  1. Roll out the dough into a big round shape. Transfer to the prepared baking paper.
  2. Brush the egg wash evenly on the pastry.
  3. Arrange the apples on the centre of pastry.
  4. Fold the border of pastry over the apples, pleating the edges to fix it.
  5. Brush egg wash along the edges.
  6. Sprinkle the almond flakes on top.
  7. Bake until the pastry turns golden, about 25 minutes (180°C), serve warm.
  8. Brushing - 1 no egg + 1 tbsp water
